  1. Click on Constructs.On the Build page, click Constructs

  2. Decide on the position or where to situate the condition. Click Add New + at the correct Parent level. It can either be at the level of a previously created Sequence, Condition or Condition.A Construct Type option box will appear. Click Condition to add a conditionLoop

  3. If the new condition is within a sequence or loop, click Add New + at the correct Parental level.

  4. If the new condition is within a condition sequence or loop, then click the Add New + at the level of first condition.  You need to place it either in the ‘True’ branch or in the ‘False’ branch as indicated below in the relevant grey bar across the page.
  5. Three fields open on the right-hand side: a Label, a Literal and a Logic field.

  6. In the Label field give the condition a Name. This should be in the format c_[questionref]. Refer to the labelling guide for naming conditionsAlternatively, click on the nearest Add New + and then once created, move the condition to the correct position through click and drag.

  7. A Construct Type option box will appear. Click Condition to add a condition.

  8. Add a label for your question in the Label field. See Construct a Label for more details.

  9. In the Literal field add the text of the condition. This should be the text exactly as it appears in the questionnaire. See Archivist Elements section for further guidance on adding condition text.

  10. In the Logic field, the condition should be documented using the standard set of condition ofcondition logic used in CLOSER. . See the Archivist Elements section condition logic for further guidance on using condition logic. The condition logic resides in square brackets following the condition text. This allows it to be extracted for programmatic use later. You do not need to add the square brackets in the Logic field as they will be applied automatically.Click Save to save your new Conditiondetails. Square brackets are automatically added around the logic.

  11. Click Save to save your new condition. It will now appear above the Add new + selected, marked with its label. You can drag and drop it to other places in the questionnaire if needed.

  12. Repeat as required.

  13. You can view your new condition in the View screen. Select the prefix of your questionnaire in the breadcrumb at the top of the page. This is useful for reviewing the entry.

  14. Return to the Build page screen by clicking on the menu button near the top of the page.selecting the option from the breadcrumb.
