Do you often find yourself leaving an article webpage to try and find UCL access to it?
Here are some ways to check UCL access to any article or other electronic resource you find

UCL 'LibX' browser plug-in

  • Check UCL access to any DOI, ISSN, ISBN or other recognisable book/article in a webpage
  • Reload any page via UCL proxy server - if we subscribe, this will allow you access as if you were on a UCL computer.
  • Search UCL catalogue for any text you highlight in a webpage.
  • Available for Firefox or Internet Explorer
  • Go to the LibX page to find out more.

'Reload via UCL' button

(Similar to one part of the LibX functionality above)
Create a bookmark in your browser with the following properties (unfortunately this link cannot currently be created in this Wiki)

No Format
Title: Reload via UCL
Location: javascript:void(location.href="http://libproxy.ucl.ac.uk/login?url=" +location.href)

Click on this bookmark to reload any page via the UCL proxy server, which then presents the page as if you were on the UCL network.
Note that this will only work for resources to which UCL subscribes - for other resources it will show an error message and you cannot access them.

Search via Google Scholar (with UCL preferences)
