Ultraview Vox Lasers and Fluorescence Filters

Ultraview Vox Lasers and Fluorescence Filters

Lasers

The Vox has diode or DPSS lasers that emit the following wavelengths: 405 nm, 488 nm, 561 nm and 640 nm.

Emission filters in the filter wheel

These filters are used when you are imaging. The filter in position 7 is a dual band pass filter letting through green and red fluorophores. It is used in Fast Sequential mode. All of the filters are selectable in Volocity when you are in Emission Discrimination mode.

Note that although there are filters for CFP and YFP the confocal system does not have lasers at 440 nm or 515 nm that would be optimal for exciting these fluorophores, although the 488 laser can be used to excite YFP.

Filter cubes in the microscope

These filters are used when viewing your specimen down the microscope eyepieces. You can select them using the microscope Remote Control Pad or in Volocity. The filter turret must be in position 1 (EMPTY) when imaging with the spinning disc.
