Radiance Start-up Procedure

Start-Up Procedure for Radiance 2100MP

  1. Switch on the 100W mercury (HBO) lamp power supply by pressing the 'Power' switch into the 'I' position. The green Power LED will light. Press the 'Ignition' button to ignite the arc. The amber 'Lamp Ready' LED will light.
  2. Switch on the power supply for the microscope's 100W halogen (HAL) lamp by flipping the black switch on the bottom right. the LED on the top left of the front panel should light up.
  3. Login to Windows NT on the computer by pressing CTRL ALT DEL at the prompt, and typing in the username lsm and the password lsm. If the computer is off, start it up and wait for the CTRL ALT DEL prompt to appear, then carry on as above. Windows MUST be fully booted up before the Instrument Control Unit (see below) is switched on.
  4. Switch on the Instrument Control Unit (ICU) by flipping the black rocker switch at the top of the panel to the 'I' position. Wait for the green LED to light-up on the scan-head before moving onto the next step.
  5. Open the LaserSharp 2000 software by double-clicking its icon on the desktop.
  6. Select your name from the list that appears and enter your password to access your profile
  7. Once LaserSharp 2000 has successfully opened make sure the key in the ICU panel is in the horizontal position (see above) and switch on the required lasers by pressing the buttons on the panel. These are, in ascending order: Argon laser (blue LED); Green HeNe laser (green LED); Red Diode laser (red LED).
