The MyPortfolio Institution Administrator role

If a department is using MyPortfolio with a large cohort, Digital Education tends to set up a sub-area of MyPortfolio, called an 'Institution', and give administrator access to designation departmental staff. Those Administrators carry out tasks such as managing access, setting up and populating groups.

We ask all prospective Institution Administrators to complete the Administrating Your MyPortfolio Institution course on UCL Moodle.

Once you have MyPortoflio Institution Administrator access you get the following extra capabilities:

  • View users in the Institution.
  • Create Groups .
  • Add Users to Groups.
Please note, Institution Administrators cannot add new users to the installation as a whole. If you need to add users who have never previously logged into MyPortfolio, you will need to complete the necessary csv files and request that Digital Education add those.

On your dashboard, there is a new menu item titled Administration.

If you click on Administration, you can access a page with further options for Institution Administrators.

Note that if you are Administrator of more than one institution, then you will be given a menu to select the Institution you need to work on.
