M08b - Online Asynchronous Teaching Case Study: Interview with Dr Clare Bentall
In the previous case study on online asynchronous teaching, Dr Nicole Blum spoke about her approach to asynchronous teaching and the design of the CPAS0080: Principles and Practices of Development Education Moodle course.
In this case study, I speak with Dr Clare Bentall from the Institute of Education (IOE) who worked alongside Dr Nicole Blum and Professor Doug Bourn in developing the MA in Development Education and Global Learning in the IOE. In the interview segments provided below, Clare explains why the course is taught asynchronously and some of the advantages of this approach. She also reflects on encouraging students to participate and aligning asynchronous activities to a module's assessment outcomes.
