Generating Reports with the Moodle Advanced Grading Plugin
This guide explains how staff and administrators can use the moodle_report_advanced_grading plugin to generate reports for assignments graded with advanced grading methods (rubrics or marking guides) in Moodle. The plugin replaces the outdated moodlereport_component_grade plugin and offers improved functionality for exporting grades, comments, and feedback.
How to Generate and Export Reports
The Rubric and Marking Guide breakdown reports can be reached from the course page by clicking on an assignment and selecting from this menu. The menu option shown will depend on the grading method of the assignment.
If no marking has happened the report will display with no student details and a message saying "No marked submissions found".
View the Report:
The report appears as an HTML table in the browser, showing grades, comments, overall feedback, and student identifiers (e.g., username, email, groups).
Use column sorting to organize data.
Export the Report:
Click the “CSV” or “Excel” button to download the report in your preferred format.
The exported file includes grades, comments, and feedback for all graded submissions.
Please note that this plug-in fully supports new assignments, but exports for existing assignments (created before the update) may have missing or incomplete data due to a lack of backward compatibility.
