Moodle quizzes can be used to test students knowledge prior to admitting them to a programme of study, or on to a particular module that assumes prior knowledge in certain areas.

Moodle quizzes are currently used in Chemistry to ensure students understand the basics of using equipment safely in the lab. Students who do not pass the Moodle Quiz beforehand are not permitted in to the lab.
