Rescoring a FLOWmulti exam

Rescoring a FLOWmulti exam

This process can be used to adjust the scores for a FLOWmulti assignment or exam where a question has been corrected by the Author. This can be done after the assessment has taken place.

Conditions for rescoring:

  • The end date/time of the general participation period has passed

  • There are currently no grades finalised on the flow

  • An item in the flow version of the exam has at least one author modification

  • There are no pending rescores for the item

The exam Author should confirm that they have completed the steps outlined in our guidance on Changing Incorrect Answers or Rescoring a FLOWmulti exam before you follow the steps below.

  1. Access the relevant flow as a Manager and select the To be handed out tab. Click on Manage assignments.

  2. Click Assignment details:

  3. Identify the part of the exam that needs to be rescored. You can Preview items in the Latest item update column to help with this. Click Rescore and then click Confirm:

Note: If you are unable to rescore an item because the option is greyed out, double check the conditions listed on this page carefully. Are there any finalised grades that need to be unlocked? Has the Author definitely updated the correct version of the exam paper? (Updating the original assignment rather than the flow version is a common error)

  1. The rescoring status will display as PENDING. Click Refresh scoring status and confirm that the rescoring process has been completed:

  2. Repeat steps 3 and 4 as needed if there are multiple items in the exam paper that need to be rescored. Automatically scored questions will have been updated immediately. If a question that requires manual marking needed to be rescored (i.e. because the maximum score was set incorrectly), markers can now adjust points for these as needed.

In either case, the markers can now correctly calculate the overall grades for the exam.
