The most common problems are in relation to connection or audio visual setup.
I cannot connect to the session
- Check the session's scheduled start time;
- The session may not start until the Host has joined.
I am trying to connect as a guest and I cannot join the session
- Double-check that you have the correct link or session ID;
- Double-check that you have the correct pass-code (if one is set for the session);
- You may need to sign in to Zoom;
- You may have been placed in the Waiting Room, and will need to wait until the Host approves your entry.
I am having problems with the camera/microphone
- If in a meeting, click the arrow next to Start Video / Stop Video;
- Select Video settings;
- From the settings menu, you can also select Audio in the right hand menu to view Audio settings;
- Try selecting the correct camera or microphone from the drop down;
- If you are still having issues, click the trouble shooting link for more guidance.
I am not able to share audio/video
- Ask your tutor to confirm that you have been granted audio/video permissions for that session.
My connection keeps dropping
- Check wireless settings;
- Switch to a wired rather than a wireless connection if possible.
Note that UCL staff cannot support/address local connectivity issues.
I keep seeing a spinning wheel and the session does not start
- Please check that your browser's ad blocker isn't blocking cookies from Zoom, and/or whitelist these cookies as they are essential for running the session.
