Copies

When a questionnaire has a lot of similar content to a previously entered and verified questionnaire from that study, a copy of the questionnaire can be made in Archivist. The XML generated from the copy can then be imported back into Archivist with a new prefix and questionnaire title (ask Becky or Hayley to make the copy). This saves a lot of time as we can be confident that, when the content is the same, it does not need to be meticulously checked as the copied questionnaire has already been verified.

One way to identify the changes that need to be made is by using diffchecker. This website allows you to upload two documents, and it will highlight the differences between the two. Targeted changes can then be made to the areas of the questionnaire which have been highlighted as being different from the previous questionnaire. This method is ideal when there are only a small number of changes to be made.

Alternatively, the questionnaire can be scanned against the document that is being used for entry to ensure all the content is included and is in the correct order, making changes where needed. Similarly to parsed questionnaires, the content that is already included does not need to be checked as meticulously as content which has been entered from scratch, because the content has been copied from a verified questionnaire.
