Note

Acquisition Control is the most obvious way to start an acquisition because it is easily visible in the user interface. However, the best way I've found to acquire images is to use Multiple Acquisition Setup, which is explained belowlater.

You can acquire data from In the Acquisition Control area . Here you can define the exposure and number of images to be captured as well as the naming scheme for the files. The Dataset tag is the name of the top-level folder that is created to hold all image files captured during that session. A date stamp is automatically added to the folder name so there is no need to include the date in the name. Each individual acquisition during a session is named according to the text entered into the Acquisition tag field. If you created a user login, all the acquired files and folders will be saved in your own folder. the View button begins a live camera preview while the Acquire button will start imaging using the exposure and number of images set within the Acquisition Control area.

Warning

The lasers are not automatically turned on when acquisition is initiated this way, so you must turn them on yourself in the Light Control area or the images will all be captured with the lasers off. This is one reason why Multiple Acquisition setup is better.

Multiple Acquisition Setup

  1. The best way start acquiring data is to use multidimensional acquisition. Click the Multiple Acquisition Setup button under the focus camera view on the left. In the Acquisition tab, click Single, set imaging mode to Normal, specify the laser power, exposure/frequency and number of images. In Saving, specify the Dataset Tag, which will be the folder where the files are stored, and the Acquisition Tag, which will be the filename. Note that the date will be automatically included in the filename.
