Before m. and f. countable nouns in the singular, noen can be used in questions and negative questions to mean 'any':
Vi har ikke noen god bok tekstbok som han hun ikke har lest sett allerede.

Before nouns in the plural: 'some, any':
Her er noen tegneserier. 'Here are some cartoon strips.'
Vi har ikke noen reine lommertørkelær (<- et lommertørkle) igjen. 'We haven't any clean handkerchiefs left.'
Jeg skal kjøpe noen. 'I'll buy some.'
