Location: Room 13.1917, MRC Building
Leica 2 consists of a DMIRB inverted microscope with phase contrast, Leica Modulation Contrast (LMC) and fluorescence capabilities. It is currently fitted with an Leica DFC7000T colour camera for acquiring images of coloured specimens (e.g. histochemically stained) as well as fluorescent samples. Apart from the camera the configuration of the microscope is very similar to the Leica in room 3.17.
The LAS X software will save software saves images in LIF format but can be exported into TIFF or JPEG by right clicking on your on the file and choosing selecting 'export' rather than 'save'.
See the DMIRB Microscope Information link on the left Technical information and user guides above for details of objective lenses and fluorescence filters.
