A new Moodle-Portico Marks Transfer integration has been designed and developed to improve the process for transferring marks from Moodle to Portico.

The MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is due to go live on Monday 18th March 2024.

This version of the Marks Transfer Wizard (MTW), will NOT accommodate all assessment scenarios or activities at this time. Our development team will prioritise on user feedback and add the additional functionality in an "Agile" iterative development fashion. This will enable the team to progressively improve the product while still giving benefits from an early stage.

When can I use Mark Transfer? 

You will be able to use Mark Transfer in Moodle Pilot if the following conditions are met:

  1. You have used the Portico enrolment block to create a mapping with a Module Delivery to your Moodle course.
  2. Either of the following assessment scenarios is true:-
    1. Only one Moodle assessment activity is being linked to one assessment component in Portico.
    2. Only one Moodle assessment activity is being linked to multiple assessment components in Portico.
  3. An assessment component exists in Portico to map against.
  4. The Moodle assessment marks are numerical 0-100.
  5. The assessment component in Portico is compatible with SITS Marking Schemes and SITS Assessment Types.
  6. For exam assessments, the Portico assessment component is the exam room code EXAMMDLE.

If the assessment scenario or activity is not mentioned above as part of the criteria for when you can use Marks Transfer, you will need to continue to use manual processes to upload marks into Portico for the time being.

What Marks Transfer will do in the future

After the Minimum Viable Product has been released on 18 March 2024, we will continue to improve the marks transfer integration by adding further marking scenarios and functionality.
