Data Protection and Opinio

All research involving the use of personal data must be registered with the Data Protection Officer before you can start to collect data. To register your research please complete Form 2: Registration for new Research Projects. If your survey requires the respondent to enter personal data that can identify them, or your survey provides you with tracking facilities to enable you to identify an individual, you should provide information about your use of the data. Please use or adapt the following:

Data Protection Act 1998: The personal information that you give for this survey will only be used for the purposes of the survey and will not be transferred to an organisation outside of UCL.

The data will be transferred to the Department conducting the survey who will retain it in compliance with the UCL Records Retention Schedule. The data will also be stored by UCL Information Services for six months and will then
be removed from the Opinio system.

Use of Opinio is in accordance with the terms and conditions detailed in the Service Level Definition.
