General information

ZDC is available in two operating modes, the focus search mode or the continuous focus mode. If you are using Z-drift compensation you will need to set the following parameters depending on the mode you are using:

Focus Search Mode

  • Offset: amount of compensation between the top surface of the glass coverslip and the sample
  • Z-drift compensation search zone: includes the Z-drift compensation centre, width and range

Continuous Focus Mode

  • make sure that the top of the glass coverslip is detected in the focus search mode before switching over to the continuous focus mode
  • only available for oil and water immersion lenses

ZDC is only guaranteed to work with glass bottom dishes. I may work with other samples too. ZDC is not available with phase contrast lenses.
