Location: Room 3.17, MRC Building

Leica 2 consists of a DMIRB inverted microscope with phase contrast, Leica Modulation Contrast (LMC) and fluorescence capabilities. It is currently fitted with an Leica DFC7000T colour camera for acquiring images of coloured specimens (e.g. histochemically stained) as well as fluorescent samples. Apart from the camera the configuration of the microscope is very similar to the Leica in room 3.17.

The LAS X software saves images in LIF format but can be exported into TIFF or JPEG by right clicking on the file and selecting 'export'.

See the Technical information and user guides above for details of objective lenses and fluorescence filters.
