How to get a Volocity licence to use on your computer


In order to use Volocity on your computer you must connect to the Improvision Licence Server on the LMCB network. This technical note explains how to get a core Volocity licence that will allow you to open your Volocity Libraries, carry out basic processing functions like Registration Corrections and Background Corrections, and export the data in a variety of formats. If you need to use Restoration, Visualization or Quantitation licences then please email lmcb-lm-help@ucl.ac.uk

  1. Make sure your computer is connected to the LMCB network and the internet
  2. If you haven't done so already, download and install Volocity from the following location: Volocity Download
  3. Launch Volocity; you will be prompted to select the licencing method. Click Server...
  4. Type the following into the Licence Server dialogue box - Address: improvision.lmcb.ucl.ac.uk Port: 15002
  5. Type the following into the Connect to Server dialogie box - User ID: core Password: (leave blank)
  6. Select Core from the list of Configurations
