Olympus FV1200 - Troubleshooting Guide

What to do if the lens can't be raised high enough to focus on your specimen

This usually happens because a low Focus Limit has been set in the I3-TPC Touch Pad Controller to prevent the lens from crashing through the specimen during the operation of the ZDC auto focus. To change the Focus Limit, carry out the following steps:

  1. Quit the confocal software
  2. Focus on your specimen down the eyepieces
  3. Press the spanner icon on the touch pad to enter System Setting
  4. Press the Customized tab
  5. Make sure Focus Limit Setting is ticked and press Detailed Setting
  6. Look down the eyepieces and raise the focus beyond your specimen so it can be imaged at all depths
  7. Press the 'All the same values SET' button to set this as the new focus limit for all objective lenses
  8. Press the OK button and then press the X button in the top right to close the System Setting dialogue box
  9. You can now open the confocal software
