titleGrading Forms

What is the difference between Grading Forms & Rubrics? Rubrics are a matrix of criteria and levels of achievement. Each cell can have a description of the level of achievement and (optionally) a numeric mark attached - the marker selects the level to which a student has met each criterion, and can optionally give further comments for each. Grading forms on the other hand contain each criterion and its description - the tutor can enter feedback and (optionally) a mark for each, but there are no levels of achievement to choose from. Rubric may be can be more standardised (and therefore quicker working with large cohorts), whereas Grading Form can be more individualised. Both tend to break down credit into discrete aspects, rather than looking at it as a whole - Turnitin GradeMark provides a place for holistic feedback as general comments on each submission, as either text or audio recording.
