What is it?
The Online The Online users block block lets you and your students see who else is online. Clicking a user name username takes you to their profile, where you can send a Moodle message and view further information about that user.
Why use it?
This block can help students and staff see who is currently logged in to Moodle, so they can have a real-time chat with them using the Moodle chat, an external tool, or send them a Moodle message.
