Guests are anyone who can access your course without logging into Moodle first. This can be handy for visiting lecturers who simply don't need to do much in Moodle except a read-only view into a course. Guests are restricted in terms of what they can do, i.e. they can't post into forums, submit assignments or do any kind of grading etc. They are useful, but also can be limiting.

If you need to give someone a richer access to Moodle, we recommend you seek to get them a proper UCL account.
