What is it?
This resource allows you to create ' Lightbox' -enabled image galleries within your Moodle course. Small thumbnails will then be generated, which are used for the thumbnail view of the gallery.
Why use it?
Allows Allows you to create a visually engaging Moodle course, and students can contribute to the images when the correct settings are applied.
Who can use it?
Course administrators Administrators and tutors Tutors can createcreate, edit and delete galleries and delegate edit . They can also delegate editing rights to students if they choose.

Meeting the baseline
The UCL E-Connected Learning Baseline suggests the following for Resources :
5.1 Use descriptive titles for all items and consider displaying the item's description on the course homepage, as this helps students understand the purpose of the activity or resource.
5.2 Provide learning resources - Provide presentation slides, notes or handouts. See which file format to use when. UCL policy is to provide lecture materials 48 hours in advance.
- 5.4 Check resources - Regularly fix or remove broken hyperlinks (URLs) and check that all resources are up-to-date before releasing these to students.
- 5.6 5 Embed videos and other media (such as animations, audio, virtual labs) from Lecturecast, Box of Broadcasts, YouTube, Vimeo, Khan Academy and other sources.
How do I set one up?
- Turn editing on and from the add Switch Edit mode on, click Add an activity or resource dropdown, select Lightbox Gallery resource in the required section, then select Lightbox Gallery from the pop-up.
- Add a name or description and description.
- Scroll down and click Save and display.
- Click Add images and to enable the file browser to appear, where you can locate and select the required images from your computer

- Once you have selected your images, click the Add images button.
How to add more images or edit existing?
- To add more images select add image Add images in the bottom left corner.
- To edit existing images, Turn editing on
This will bring up the choose box that lists the below optionsmake sure Edit mode is switched on, then click the Choose dropdown underneath an image.
- The Choose dropdown gives you the following options:
- Caption - Allows you to rename the image - make sure you click the update button when you have finished.
- Delete - Removed Removes the image from the gallery.
- Flip - You can flip the image either vertically or horizontally.
- Resize - Change the size of the image either by Dimensions or Scale.
- Rotate - Allows you to rotate for the image by by -90°, 180° or -or 90°.
- Tag - Adding a tag makes searching for an image easier.
- Thumbnail - You will be able to adjust the left or right the portion of the image that will be displayed as the thumbnail
- Set the index image for the gallery and adjust the offset of the thumbnail images.
