Approved at the July 2014 Board of Examiners meeting, the guidance below takes you through the several different anonymous marking scenarios with Turnitin afforded by UCL's draft Marking Policy (see Appendix 16 of the Academic Regulations Appendices). It is concerned with planning and as such is at quite a high level; elsewhere ELE provides instructions about the particulars of setting up and operating Turnitin.
