Start-Up Procedure for TCS SP5

1. Switch on the EL6000 Compact Light Source by pressing the Power switch. A green LED will come on behind the switch. The light source will automatically ignite. Ensure that the 'Shutter Open' LED is on. If not, press the Shutter button.
2. Press the 'PC Microscope' button on the far left of the main switchboard (see below). Pressing this will turn on the computer and the microscope.
3. If the computer boots but the microscope stand does not start up, make sure that the Electronics Box on the floor (below) is switched on. This should be left on at all times in order that the PC Microscope button works correctly.
4. Login to Windows XP as 'TCS_User' and wait for the computer to finish booting. No password is required for this user profile.
