What is it?

This resource allows you to create ' Lightbox' -enabled image galleries within your Moodle course. Small thumbnails will then be generated, which are used for the thumbnail view of the gallery.   

Why use it?

 Allows Allows you to create a visually engaging Moodle course, and students can contribute to the images when the correct settings are applied. 

Who can use it?

Course administrators Administrators and tutors Tutors can  createcreate, edit and delete galleries and delegate edit . They can also delegate editing rights to students if they choose.

Students can view the images within the gallery.

Ensure your images are clearly named.

How do I set one up?

  1. Turn editing on and from the add Switch Edit mode on, click Add an activity or resource dropdown, select Lightbox Gallery resource in the required section, then select Lightbox Gallery from the pop-up.
  2. Add a name or description and description.
  3. Scroll down and click Save and display.
  4. Click Add images and to enable the file browser to appear, where you can locate and select the required images from your computer

Once you can edit or delete the individual photos by clicking Turn editing on.

  2. Once you have selected your images, click the Add images button.

How to add more images or edit existing?

  1. To add more images select Add images in the bottom left corner.
  2. To edit existing images, make sure Edit mode is switched on, then click the Choose dropdown underneath an image.

  3. The Choose dropdown gives you the following options:
    1. Caption - Allows you to rename the image - make sure you click the update button when you have finished.
    2. Delete - Removes the image from the gallery.
    3. Flip - You can flip the image either vertically or horizontally.
    4. Resize - Change the size of the image either by Dimensions or Scale.
    5. Rotate - Allows you to rotate the image by -90°, 180° or 90°.
    6. Tag - Adding a tag makes searching for an image easier.
    7. Thumbnail - Set the index image for the gallery and adjust the offset of the thumbnail images.
