Introduction
This is the overview page for the phase 2 pilot of the Moodle/SITS mark transfer integration. This pilot will be testing the new Moodle Assessment Wizard (MAW) marks Transfer functionality that was developed following the phase 1 pilot. This wizard, will provide a more streamlined experience for end users, putting the core assessment component information at the centre of the tool, that can then be mapped to a selection of Moodle assessments.
Pilot Phase 2 will be the last pilot phase before an initial MVP (Minimal Viable Product) release into UCL Moodle Production, which we hope will be deployed in late March 2024.
Objectives of Phase 2 Pilot
- To test the new version of the Moodle/SITS marks transfer integration using the newly designed MVP of the Moodle Assessment Wizard
- To collect feedback on the Wizard to:-
- Improve the interface and workflow for a general UCL wide release in late March 2023
- To collect feedback and prioritise next step improvements and developments post March launch
Duration of Pilot
The pilot will be active from available from the 8th of January 2023 until Monday the 26th of February
Limitations of Phase 2 Pilot
A Moodle-Portico Marks Transfer integration has been designed to improve the process for transferring marks from Moodle to Portico. This is now available on UCL Moodle.

It is important to understand that this This version of the Moodle Assessment Marks Transfer Wizard (MAWMTW), will NOT accommodate all assessment scenarios or activities at this time. This version of the MAW is designed to test the core scenarios and activities so that this can be released institutionally wide. Our development team will then prioritise on user feedback and add the additional functionality in an "Agile" iterative development fashion. This will enable the team to progressively improve the product while still giving benefits from an early stage. |
This page outlines when you can and cannot use marks transfer and how the tool will be developed next.
