Shut-Down Procedure for Radiance 2100MP

  1. Before logging out or exiting make sure that the focus motor is switched off in the LaserSharp 2000 Control Panel.
  2. If someone has booked a session on the confocal less than 4 hours after your session, do not shut the system down; simply log out of your user profile in LaserSharp 2000 by selecting 'LogOut' from the file menu.
  3. If no-one has booked the confocal after you, or if is the end of the day, select 'Exit' from the File menu (above) to quit LaserSharp 2000.
  4. Logout of Windows NT by selecting 'Shut Down' from the 'Start' menu in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Select 'Close all programs and log on as a different user' from the window that appears; this will ensure the computer stays on (but logged out) and connected to the network.
  5. Switch off the lasers by pressing their respective buttons on the Instrument Control Unit (see Start Up Procedure). Switch off the Instrument Control Unit by flipping the black rocker switch at the top of the panel to the 'O' position.
  6. Switch off the halogen and fluorescent lamp power supplies (see Start Up Procedure).
  7. Wipe the microscope objective with lens tissue and cover up the microscope.
