Marking and producing feedback

Note that entering marks and feedback is not the same as releasing those to students - that needs to be actively managed.

ASER requires:

A consistent feedback template

"Each department must agree a consistent student feedback template for any given assignment which makes appropriate reference to the marking criteria and explains to students how they can improve their work in future. These, or requests for exemptions in exceptional circumstances, must be submitted to Faculty Teaching Committees for approval."

Moodle Workshop allows a feedback form to be set up for peer markers.

Depending on the technology you are using, there is a range of ways to give feedback.

Ways to give feedback

Moodle Assignment or Turnitin Assignment:

Rubrics or marksheets.
Summary feedback.
Files of feedback which may be typed, audio, or screencast.
'Bubble' comments within a submission, for specific feedback.

Moodle Workshop peer feedback activity:

You will have specified a marking form to scaffold the peer marking.
Ensure peer markers are aware of when the marking phase starts and ends.

Moodle Quiz:

Feedback you specify for each option, question and/or grade band.
