What is it?
'Publish as LTI Tool' allows you to share your course or activities with other Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) users, including those using other Moodle installation.
Why use it?
Your students can interact with users in other VLEs without having to grant them access to UCL Moodle.
Who can use it?
Currently, 'Publish as LTI Tool' is not available on UCL Moodle. However, it is enabled on UCL Extend, so you can share courses or activities on UCL Extend within UCL Moodle using the External Tool (LTI) activity.
Before I start...
Ensure you have obtained a data protection and non-disclosure agreement with any organisation you are sharing your course or activity with.
How do I set one up?
This is not currently available within UCL Moodle.
Further help
Further guidance on Publishing as an LTI tool is available from moodledocs.
If you find any inaccurate or missing information you can even update this yourself (it's a communal wiki).
If you have a specific question about the tool please contact the Digital Education team.
Caution
If you share your course with an external institution though, they will need to sign a non-disclosure agreement and abide by EU data protection laws (so the location of VLE hosting may be an issue is such cases), since UCL Moodle usage information will be shared with the other institution.
