This page gathers together applicable policies for staff and students using the Lecturecast service. Many of these are general UCL Policy regarding using of Information Services, but please read these carefuly before you use the system.

Lecturecast Retention Policy

  • Content on the Lecturecast system will be permanently deleted after seven (7) years
  • Lecturecast content will be available for four (4) years from the date of capture
  • Any content older than four years will become automatically archived by the system into a state known as 'Glacier'
  • Content will stay in the 'Glacier' for three (3) years and may only be recovered by the Digital Education team
  • Any content within the 'Glacier' for more than three (3) years wil then be permanently deleted automatically.
  • Any content that is republished to another section wil have its clock reset to the start of the seven (7) year cycle

Support of the Lecturecast service requires at times the use of remote viewing of audio visual confidence monitoring. This enables authorised support teams to ensure that conected audio visual signals are being recieved by the device. While camera and presentation displays can be viewed no audio is transmitted beyond audio level and confidence monitoring is not recorded. This work is undertaken as part standard support ISD processes to ensure effective operation of the Lecturecast system and complies with the following UCL policies
