A Duplicate of an Existing Course

Request a duplicate of an existing course to be used as a new course template. Select this option if you would like to retain an existing course structure and its contents. This new duplicate is a shell for a new course. Please remember this duplicate course will not contain any student data from your previous course. 

  1. Go to the Moodle new course request web form.
  2. Select 'A Duplicate of an Existing Course'
  3. Do you require an existing course to be duplicated for a new course template?
  4. Yes
  5. Enter the Link/URL. 
  6. Continue to the next step to complete the form.

Based on a Departmental Template

Department-based templates or the Blank Connected Learning Baseline Module

template are predefined in Moodle to be used as a shell for any new course. 
  1. Go to the Moodle new course request web form.
  2. Select 'Based on a Departmental Template'
  3. Using the drop-down, select your departmental template (if a template does not exist, you can go to the next option 'Blank Connected Learning Baseline Module Template)
  4. Continue to the next step to complete the form.

Blank Connected Learning Baseline Module Template This option is primarily used for the creation of new course templates (if a department template does not exist) or used for testing for the Getting Started with Moodle or the Administering your Moodle Course

  3. Continue to the next step to complete the form.
