If you are using the STED as a confocal you may from time-to-time notice that the controls for scan field rotation are not visible in the software or on the control panel. This is because the microscope has been used for STED and the STED features are still active. Scan scan field rotation is disabled in STED so the illumination and depletion lasers remain aligned. To regain control of scan field rotation you need to quit and reopen the software and turn off the STED switch when you see it on the splash screen.
