The SPE confocals are built around manual DM2500 microscope stands. The fluorescence filter turret and objective lens nosepiece are manually rotated. There is no internal focus motor; confocal sectioning is achieved via a galvanometer driven stage insert. Eyepiece or confocal light path selection is via manual slider. DIC components are available for these microscopes.
