What is it?

The navigation block will appear on every page of UCL Moodle and contains links to help users navigate.

An expanding tree menu includes My home, Site Pages and Courses. Other links that appear in the navigation block depends on the role of the user, where they within UCL Moodle, and any settings that have been applied globally.

Why use it?

The navigation block is necessary to navigate Moodle easily.

Who can use it?

Everyone can use the block once they log in to Moodle.

How do I set one up?

The navigation block is by default on all Moodle courses, but is not automatically configured to display links to each section on a course. To ensure it does this:

  • Turn editing on.
  • Click the cog icon and select 'Configure Navigation block'.
  • Generate navigation for the followingEverything.
  • Click Save changes.
