Note that entering marks and feedback is not the same as releasing those to students - that needs to be actively managed.

ASER requires:

 A consistent feedback template

"Each department must agree a consistent student feedback template for any given assignment which makes appropriate reference to the marking criteria and explains to students how they can improve their work in future. These, or requests for exemptions in exceptional circumstances, must be submitted to Faculty Teaching Committees for approval."

UCL assessment platforms offer alternatives for this:

Moodle Assignment or Turnitin Assignment

  • If you are using rubrics or marking guides, give feedback via those.
  • Summarise the feedback either as text or spoken.
  • Use inline comments as needed.
  • Audio feedback can give a greater amount of richer and more personal feedback than typed comments - see our guide on audio feedback.

Quizzes

  • You will have specifed feedback for each option, question and grade band.

Moodle Workshop peer feedback activity

  • You will have specified a marking form to scaffold the peer marking.
  • Ensure peer markers are aware of when the marking phase starts and ends.
