Plus sign iconWhen requesting a new Moodle course, there are 3 options to choose from listed below. Please make sure to provide the module code (if applicable) and a course title.

Based on a Departmental TemplateDepartment-based templates or the Blank Connected Learning Baseline Module template are predefined in Moodle to be used as a shell for any new course. 
  1. Go to the Moodle new course request web form.
  2. Select 'Based on a Departmental Template'
  3. Using the drop-down, select your departmental template (if a template does not exist, you can go to the next option 'Blank Connected Learning Baseline Module Template)
  4. Continue to the next step to complete the form.

Blank Connected Learning Baseline Module Template This option is primarily used for the creation of new course templates (if a department template does not exist) or used for testing for the Getting Started with Moodle or the Administering your Moodle Course
  1. Go to the Moodle new course request web form.
  2. Select 'Blank Connected Learning Baseline Module Template '
  3. Continue to the next step to complete the form.

Based on a Duplicate of an existing course


This option is used to receive a copy of an existing course. (Whenever possible staff should use the Course Rollover Tool to duplicate their courses).
  1. Go to the Moodle new course request web form.
  2. Select 'A Duplicate of an Existing Course '
  3. Continue to the next step to complete the form.
  4. Insert the course URL in the Additional Information field.
