Creating a Zoom session (Host)
You can currently schedule a Meeting from the Zoom web portal, using the Zoom Desktop App or via the Moodle integration.

Please note Zoom sessions have the following roles:
Role name | Permissions | Set up |
---|---|---|
Host | Typically the owner of the meeting. Can do everything in a Zoom meeting. | The creator of a Zoom meeting will be assigned the role of Host. |
Co-host | Can manage participants, such as admit users from the waiting room, share screen and start/stop recording. Cannot start meeting, or start breakout groups. | Host can assign an unlimited number of Co-hosts during a Zoom session from the Participants panel. |
Participant | Typically for students. By default, participants can share video, audio and screen. However the Host or Co-host can remove these permissions. | The default role when any user who isn't the Host joins a Zoom meeting. |
Alternative Host | Same permissions as Co-host but can also start meetings. | Host must assign an Alternative Host when scheduling the meeting. |
