Labster is an online browser based Lab simulator that is in use by some departments via LTI 1.1 in UCL Production Moodle. Labster have moved to LTI 1.3 and will officially end support of the LTI 1.1 integration (using the common cartridge download) as of July 1, 2022. We are required to update the Labster LTI from 1.1 to 1.3 and communicate the change to the registered users of the tool and ensure they can access the LTI 1.3 version on their courses..


User Story

As Digital Education we will have Labster LTI 1.3 ready for deployment, documentation completed and a decommision plan in place for LTI 1.1


In scope

  • Test Labster LTI 1.3 in our Moodle preview environment
  • Identify end user diferences and document into a guidance note
  • Communicate with departments who use Labster this change
  • Update Labster Wiki page guidance as required.
  • Deploy Labster LTI 1.3
  • Agree a decommission date within TI-04

Out of scope

  • Decommision Labster LTI 1.1 - This will be done at the start of TI-04
