Norwegian Verb Tenses - Future

In Norwegian, as in English, the future tense is formed by using skal or vil with the bare infinitive (the form of the verb one finds in the dictionary, usually ending in -e or a stressed vowel, e.g. å snakke or å tro; bare means without å).

In both languages it is common to use present tense verbs to indicate the future.

The future may also be expressed with å komme til:
Jeg kommer til å reise i morgen. "I'm definitely travelling tomorrow."
Du kommer til å bli forkjølet. "You'll catch a cold."
